We were welcomed and made to feel at home right away. This was a really good experience, I felt like I was in the owners living room and having a real Ethiopian experience. The food was tasty and had a real home cooked feel about it. The owner knew all her customers and did everything by herself which was very impressive. A real cultural experience and hopefully will be back for the coffee soon. Thank you

Lovely food, lovely lady, lovely place. We were the only ones there for our entire dinner, but we still had a nice time. A fantastic vegetarian meal.

100% recommended! quiet and relaxing place. First time trying Ethiopian food and LOVED it. Shoutout to the lady running the whole restaurant by herself, she was really helpful with the ordering and very funny too

One of the big treasures you can find in town. The most delicious food all prepared and served by the most wonderful Ethiopian lady in a very cosy place.

Fantastic food at super cheap prices. I'm going back again and again. I have the selection of vegan food which included spinach, chickpeas, lentils and dhal. All had distinct flavour and the injera is fantastic! I love the lady who runs it, who is funny and super kind. It is a gem of a restaurant in Islington.

Great authentic food at very reasonable prices. The injera is particularly good unlike most sold in London restaurants. Multi vegetarian dish was very tasty. The spicy food can be very spicy. The owner is your waiter and is not reluctant to give good advice.

An absolute gem of a local restaurant! The place is run by an amazing woman. Beautiful Ethiopian food. She can always recommend great dishes to try. A fun and delicious option for date night or dinner out with a few friends.

Finally visited Kokeb Ethiopian Restaurant on Roman Way N7 after passing it on my way home numerous times. I’m on a mission to try all the local Ethiopian & Eritrean Restaurants. I had the House special which consisted of Key Minchet Abish (spicy beef mince), Ye-Misir Key Wot (red lentils), Ye-Alicha Kik Wot (yellow split peas) & spinich. All of it had a fiery tastiness to it (she asks how spicy you would like it). The lady serving was really sweet & attentive, felt like going to your aunties house for dinner. No Tej unfortunately. Overall a good dining experience, I recommend it.
